Blue Light Mini Motu
The Mini Motu is an off-road duathlon for kids organised by Opotiki Blue Light. Distance varies according to age.

Five year olds and younger
The course for the little ones is all off-road so there are no safety concerns with traffic. The entire course is on Memorial Park. Race starts at 10am. Prize giving is at midday with the big kids.
Distance: Run 300m - MTB 500m - Run 200m
Six to eight year olds
A great course which includes a run on the Motu Trails Sand dunes trail, a bike along the stop banks of the Otara and Waioeka rivers plus a few roads through Opotiki.
Distance: Run 1.5km - MTB 1km - Run 1km
Race starts at 10:40am
Prize giving at 12 noon with the other age groups.
Nine to twelve year olds
A challenging off-road duathlon course that takes in the dunes trail, stop banks and roads around Opotiki.
Distance: Run 2.5km - MTB 4.2km - Run 1km (two laps of the MTB course)
Race starts at 11:20am
Prize Giving at 12 noon with the other age groups
