If you haven't been over the course and want some expert local advice then sign up for the recce day on 4 September (11 September Back up day).

Sunday 4 September 2016

Booking is essential

This is a great opportunity to scope out the course with locals on hand to advise and assist. There will be two different groups:

  • kayakers

  • mountain bikers/runners/road cyclists

Group 1: Kayakers

This group will meet at the kayak get-out point at 10am. If you not familiar with this location, it’s relatively easy to find. Drive towards Gisborne from Ōpōtiki for about 8km, on your right you will see a pull over area with a gate. Fred Wingate, the kayak coordinator, will be waiting there with a few helpers.
