Young Whakatane multisport star Oliver Thompson wins a free entry to the Motu Challenge. Oliver won the free entry courtesy of a Coast to Coast promotion where all entries received before the end of June went in the draw to get the entry fee back.
Motu Challenge event manager Mike van der Boom asked Richard Ussher the event director of the famous South Island Coast to Coast multisport race if they would promote the Motu Challenge in their June newsletter. Van der Boom was rapt to get some entries via the newsletter and plans to do the same again in August but will be putting up a free team entry.
Oliver Thompson is a rising star in Multisport and may well be a winner at both events in the future. But lets not put any pressure on the young man - who is only 17. Thompson won the under 18 Motu title in 2016 and was runner up at the Coast to Coast.
The Motu Challenge wishes Oliver all the best for the coming season.
